JUDGMENT
(ORAL)

1. Petitioners seek quashing of FIR No. 597/2020 of PS Okhla Industrial Area for offences under Section 498A/406/34 IPC on the ground that petitioners have settled all disputes with the complainant de facto (respondent no. 2)

2. Respondent no. 2 present personally in Court and identified by IO/SI Akash accepts notice. Learned APP also accepts notice and supports the petition on the basis of discussion with the IO.

3. Quashing of the FIR is sought on the ground that now parties are living together peacefully and respondent no. 2 is again pregnant.

4. For recording formal statements of parties, learned counsel for petitioners submits that since respondent no. 2 is now pregnant and expected to deliver this month only, recording of statements may be exempted.

5. I have spoken with the petitioner no. 1 and the respondent no. 2 in Hindi. It is submitted by them that under some wrong advice, the respondent no. 2 filed the present complaint, after which they have settled all disputes and are living together for past two years. It is also submitted by them that they have one daughter aged about 2 years. Respondent no. 2 submits that she does not want to pursue prosecution of petitioners.

6. Having spoken with the parties at length, I am satisfied that it would be in the interest of justice not to push them through full dress trial. Therefore, the petition is allowed and consequently, FIR No. 597/2020 of PS Okhla Industrial Area for offences under Section 498A/406/34 IPC and the proceedings arising out of the same are quashed. Pending application also stands disposed of.
