JUDGMENT
(oral)

1. Petitioner has filed a petition seeking divorce and the limited prayer in the present petition is to the effect that the learned Judge, Family Court, may be requested to expedite its disposal.

2. Petition seeking divorce was filed in the year 2016 and is, presently, at the stage of petitioner’s evidence.

3. Normally, while exercising supervisory jurisdiction, the Courts do not order for time-bound disposal, unless some instance of acute hardship or exigency is cited. Fact remains that in the present case the petitioner is suffering from retinitis pigmentation and his visually disability is to the extent of 100%.

4. It is, therefore, prayed that keeping in mind his abovesaid handicap, learned Judge, Family Court may be requested to expedite disposal of his CM(M) 1377/2025 2 petition.

5. The next date before learned Judge, Family Court is stated to be 08.09.2025 for further cross-examination of petitioner.

6. None appears on behalf of the respondent despite advance notice.

7. However, keeping in mind the abovesaid specific reason assigned by the petitioner, which indeed has some force, the present petition is disposed of with request to learned Judge, Family Court to give utmost priority to the divorce petition in question and to make best endeavour to dispose it off as expeditiously as possible, preferably, within one year from the date it takes up the matter.

8. Needles to say, parties shall render due assistance and cooperation to learned court to achieve such disposal.

9. Petition stands disposed of in aforesaid terms.

10. Pending applications, if any, also stand disposed of.
