JUDGMENT
1. By this petition, being CRL.M.C. 1372/2017, the petitioners have approached this court under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (in short ‘Cr.PC’) for quashing of the FIR bearing No. 75/2013, registered on 31.05.2013 with Police Station South Campus, Delhi under Section 308/323/34 of IPC.
2. The respondent no. 2 to 4 are present in person. They are represented by their counsel. They are duly identified by the IO.
3. By writ petition, being W.P.(CRL.) 730/2017, petitioners have invoked the writ jurisdiction of this court under Article 226 of the Constitution of India read with Section 482 of Cr.PC for quashing of the FIR bearing No. 76/2013, registered on 31.05.2013 with Police Station South Campus, Delhi under Section 452/323/427/34 of IPC.
4. The Respondent no. 2 to 3 are present in person. They are represented by their counsel. They are duly identified by the IO.
5. Status report has not been filed. However, learned APP through the IO submits that for altercation that took place on 31.5.2013, cross FIRs have been registered and the parties have settled the matter.
6. It is submitted that an altercation had taken place on 31.05.2013 between the parties on account of an inter-caste marriage.
7. Both the parties submit that they have settled all their disputes peacefully and mutually agreed to maintain peace and harmony and they shall not indulge themselves in such like incidents.
8. Learned APP through IO submits that the charge-sheets have been filed in both the FIRs.
9. The matter has been amicably settled between the parties and no purpose would be served in further pursuing with the said FIRs. Hence, in the facts and circumstances of the case to secure ends of justice and to ensure peace and harmony in the society, FIR bearing No. 75/2013, registered on 31.05.2013 with Police Station South Campus, Delhi under Section 308/323/34 of IPC and FIR bearing No. 76/2013, registered on 31.05.2013 with Police Station South Campus, Delhi under Section 452/323/427/34 of IPC and proceedings arising out of both the said FIRs are hereby quashed.
10. Both the petitions are disposed of accordingly.
