1. This writ petition has been filed in public interest making a grievance that the petitioner is receiving offensive and insulting anonymous messages through the social media. It is complained that despite requests to the respondents, vide letters dated 31st August, 2017 and 1st November, 2017 to intervene in the matter and take 2017:DHC:7437-DB W.P.(C)No.10706/2017 action against the website and mobile application involved in sending such messages, no action has been taken.

2. It cannot be denied that it is for the respondents to examine the complaint and verify the stated facts and to take action in the matter.

3. In view thereof, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondent nos. 1 and 2, who are represented before us on advance notice, to treat this writ petition as a representation; verify and enquire into the grievance of the petitioner and take a view thereon within one month from today. If any action is required to be taken, the same shall be taken expeditiously.

4. The order which is passed and the action taken shall be communicated to the petitioner forthwith. The writ petition and application are disposed of in the above terms. It is made clear that we have not expressed any view on the merits of the matter.
