09.01.2018 This petition seeks quashing of the FIR No.0128/2014 registered under Sections 498A1406/323/34 of the IPC at police station CAW Cell Nanakpura. This settlement has, been arrived at between an estranged couple namely Satpreet Kaur and Mr.Navdeep
Verma. The supplementary joint statement (in terms of the earlier order of this Court dated 25.10.2017) duly signed by the respective parties at Canada has been placed on record. In terms of the aforenoted settlement marked Ex.PA the parties have entered into a divorce settlement dated 04.12.20 17 at Ontario, Canada; the decree would be effective in terms of the Canadian Law w.e.f. from 31 days from 04.12.2017. The said document is a part of the record. Parties have no claim left against one another. Attorney holder of the
2018:DHC:8651 t10 estranged wife as also the parent of the estranged husband are both present in the Court. They endorse the terms of the Ex.PA. Parties shall be bound by the terms and conditions contained in Ex.PA.
Noting the above narration of facts, this Court is of the view that to secure ends of justice, this is a fit case where the prayer made in the petition should be granted. Accordingly, FIR No.0128/2014 registered under Sections 498A/406/323/34 of the IPC at police station CAW Cell Nanakpura and all proceedings emanating therefrom stand quashed. The LOC issued against the petitioner no.1
(pursuant to the proceedings in the aforenoted FIR) also stands quashed.
Petition disposed of.
