JUDGMENT
1. Petitioners are the Post Graduate Teachers (PGT) and Trained Graduate Teachers (TGT) working with respondent-Punjabi Academy as part-time teachers on contract basis for last more than one decade and they seek parity with regular teachers as per Rule 101 (2) of the Delhi School Education Rules, 1973 in light of Division Bench decision of this Court in W.P. (C) 13296/2009 titled Durraj Fatima Naqvi and Ors. v. Govt. of NCT of Delhi and Ors. rendered on 17th September, 2010 (Annexure P-4 colly.).
2. Learned counsel for petitioners submits that petitioners had made Representation (Annexure P-5) on 1st August, 2017 to claim the relief as sought in this petition, but till date, no response to this Representation has been received. 2018:DHC:205 W.P.(C) 206/2018
3. None appears on behalf of respondent-Punjabi Academy despite service of advance notice.
4. In the facts and circumstances of this case, it is deemed appropriate to dispose this petition with direction to respondent-Punjabi Academy to effectively consider and decide petitioners’ Representation (Annexure P-5) within a period of six weeks by a speaking order and its fate be conveyed to petitioners within a week thereafter, so that they may avail of the remedies as available in law, if need be.
5. Respondent-Punjab Academy be apprised of this order forthwith to ensure its compliance.
6. With aforesaid directions, this petition and the applications are disposed of.
