JUDGMENT
1. The pethio;n.e.rs are employees who have superannuated from the sei-vices of State BarTi ofIndia. As a welfare measure,the State Bank of India Jias floated a Group Insurance Scheme, with the United Indian hisurance Compan)(responden:no.3).
2. The grievance;'hf the'petitioners in the'present petition is that ine annual premium lor the'health insurance policy has been increased successively each year. It is stated that initially the piemium was in the range oft5925/-(for a cover of^3lakhs)to^47460/-(for acover upto?25 laldis).This wasincreasedfrom Januaiy,2017to^12211/-(tora coverof<3 lakhs)to^1,27;708A(for a cover oftlS laklis).The said premium hasnow been enhanced with effect from 15.01.2018 to ?33,170 for a cover of^3 laldis to^3,41,345 for a cover of?25 lalihs. The petitioner states that this inciease is exi:)rbitaiit and effectively renders the product beyond the reach 2018:DHC:8792 J % of the pensioners. It is also submitted that the said increase is contrary to provisions of Regulations 10 and 23 of the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority ofIndia(Health Insurance)Regulations,2016.
3. After some arguments,the learned counsel for the petitioner seeks to withdraw the present petition to approach the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority and further approach this Courtifthe grievances are not redressed.
4. The petition is dismissed as Withdrawn with the aforesaid liberty.
