JUDGMENT

1. Petitioner claims to be an Assistant Professor with Respondent- Institute and is said to have sought promotion as Professor under the ‘Career Advancement Scheme’ (CAS) with effect from 31st August, 2015 and it is the case of petitioner that although petitioner had applied under the said scheme on 22nd November, 2017 but no response has been received. According to petitioner, selection committee meeting under this scheme was last held on 28th March, 2016. Learned counsel for petitioner submits that no response to petitioner’s Representation of 5th February, 2018 (Annexure-A Colly) has been received till date. Learned counsel for respondent submits that if it is so, then said Representation of 5th February, 2018 would be positively responded to, within four weeks.

2. In view of the aforesaid, this petition is disposed of with directions to Respondent-Institute to pass a speaking order on petitioner’s Representation 2018:DHC:1259 W.P.(C) No.1614/2018 Page 2 of 5th February, 2018, if not already done and to convey its fate to petitioner within a week thereafter, so that petitioner may avail of the remedy as available in law, if need be.

3. With aforesaid directions, this petition is disposed of. Copy of this order be given dasti to counsel for both sides.
