JUDGMENT

1. The first two prayers made in this petition are dependent upon the holding of Departmental Promotion Committee’s meeting to consider the case of petitioner for promotion as a Senior Assistant.

2. Upon hearing, it is deemed appropriate to dispose of this petition with direction to respondent-University to forward the name of an expert to respondent-College within a period of six weeks. Thereafter, respondent-College shall ensure that the meeting of the Departmental Promotion Committee takes place within a period of another six weeks to consider the case of petitioner for promotion to the post in question as it 2018:DHC:1804 W.P.(C) 689/2017 is the case of petitioner that he is the only one who has qualified the Limited Departmental Examination. The outcome of the DPC’s meeting be thereafter conveyed to petitioner within two weeks. Since the first two prayers made in this petition cannot be considered at this stage, therefore, they are left open to be considered at a later stage, if required.

3. With aforesaid directions, this petition and the application are disposed of. Dasti.
