1. The petitioner seeks regular bail in RC No. 09(A)/2018-DLI, U/S- 7/13 (l)(d)/ 13 (2) Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, Police Station Anti Corruption Branch, CBI.

2. The petitioner is in custody since 07.03.2018. The petitioner is alleged to have demanded bribe @ 3% of the total bail amount (i.e. Rs. 19500/-). 2018:DHC:2652 BAIL APPLN. 714/2018 Page 2

3. Learned Senior Counsel for the petitioner submits that the investigation is complete and there is no likelihood of the petitioner either influencing the witnesses or the investigation.

4. Learned Spl. PP for the CBI confirms that the statement of the witnesses have been recorded and the investigation is nearly complete. However, certain forensic reports are awaited.

5. Without commenting on the merits of the case, perusal of the record as well as the submissions show that the petitioner has made a case for grant of bail. Accordingly, the petitioner is directed to be released on bail, if not required in any other case, subject to petitioner furnishing a bail bond in the sum of Rs. 25,000/- with one surety of the like amount to the satisfaction of the concerned trial court. The petitioner shall not do anything which shall either prejudice the investigation or the prosecution witnesses. The petitioner shall not leave the country without permission of the trial court.

6. Petition is disposed of in the above terms.
