JUDGMENT

1. The petitioner has filed the present petition seeking parole for a period of three months in FIR No.142/2012, Police Station Maurya Enclave on the ground of the filing a special leave petition. It is further stated that when the petition was listed on 25.04.2018 another ground for parole was taken, i.e., the marriage of the son of the deceased sister of the petitioner, which is scheduled on 05.05.2018.

2. Status report has been filed, which has verified the factum of 2018:DHC:2928 W.P.(CRL) 1256/2018 marriage. The Nominal Roll of the petitioner has been received, which shows that the petitioner has undergone 5 years 10 months and 3 days of incarceration as on 29.04.2018.

3. The petitioner was convicted under Sections 395/397/186/332/353 IPC and was sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 10 years with a fine of Rs.10,000/-. The petitioner was earlier granted interim bail/parole/Furlough and there is no allegation of any misuse.

4. It is observed that the SLP, which is proposed to be filed, seeks to impugn judgment dated 22.08.2016. Record reveals that the petitioner has earlier been released on parole from 15.02.2018 to 01.03.2018 though for a different reasons.

5. However, in the interest of justice, and to enable the petitioner to perform the customs in the marriage of the son of his deceased sister, he is granted parole for a period of two weeks from the date of his release on his furnishing a personal bond of Rs.20,000/- with one surety of the like amount to the satisfaction of the Trial Court. After completion of the parole period, the petitioner shall surrender before the Jail Superintendent.

6. The writ petition is disposed of in the above terms.
