1. Petitioner, by this petition, seeks a direction to the Trial Court to conduct the trial expeditiously on a day-to-day basis.

2. Petitioner has been in custody since 01.04.2013. The trial of the petitioner was nearly over when one of the co-accused was apprehended and thereafter said co-accused is facing trial and sought cross-examination of the witnesses already examined. 2018:DHC:3560 CRL.M.C. 2799/2018

3. It is submitted by the learned APP that out of 15 witnesses, four have already been cross examined and 11 official witnesses are remaining to be cross examined.

4. Learned senior counsel for the petitioner submits that since the petitioner is in custody, directions be issued for expeditious conclusion of the trial.

5. Keeping in view the facts and circumstances of the case, the Trial Court is directed to expedite the recording of the testimony of the prosecution witnesses and endeavour to conclude the same preferably by 30.09.2018.

6. The Petition is disposed of in the above terms.
