1. Petitioner seeks interim bail in FIR No.16/2018 under Section
20 Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985. The interim bail is sought on the ground that the marriage of the daughter of the petitioner will be solemnized in Muzaffar Nagar, U.P.
2. It is contended that the petitioner’s wife is a patient of tuberculosis and is presently undergoing treatment and there is no other male member in the family for making arrangements for marriage. The marriage is scheduled for 30.07.2018. 2018:DHC:4583 BAIL APPLN. 1599/2018
3. Learned counsel for the petitioner relies on the decision in the case of Atik Ansari vs. State, NCT Delhi: 131 (2006) DLT 463.
4. The status report has been filed which has confirmed the factum of marriage and also the fact that the marriage function is to be performed at Village Goyala, Tehsil Budhana, District Muzaffar Nagar, U.P.
5. Keeping in view of the facts and circumstances of the case, I am of the view that the petitioner be released on interim bail for a period of 10 days from the date of his release.

Accordingly, the petitioner is granted interim bail for a period of ten days from the date of his release, subject to petitioner furnishing a bail bond in the sum of Rs. 25,000/- with one surety of the like amount to the satisfaction of the concerned trial court. The petitioner shall not do anything which may prejudice either the trial or the prosecution witnesses. The petitioner shall surrender before the concerned jail authorities on the expiry of the said period of 10 days of his release.
7. The petition is, accordingly, disposed of.
