JUDGMENT
1. Allowed, subject to just exceptions. O.M.P.(MISC.)(COMM.) 336/2018
2. Issue notice.
3. Mr. Pranav Sharma accepts notice on behalf of the respondent.
4. Learned counsel for the respondent says that he does not wish to file a reply as he does not oppose the prayer made in the captioned petition for extension of time.
5. The record shows that an arbitrator was appointed by this Court vide order dated 06.10.2016, passed in Arb. P. 360/2016.
6. The arbitration proceedings, it appears, commenced on 22.10.2016. 2018:DHC:7163 O.M.P. (Misc) (Comm) 336/2018
7. After the expiry of the statutory period of 12 months, parties mutually agreed for extension of time by 6 months commencing from 21.10.2017. This period expired on 20.04.2018.
8. Thereafter, the parties approached this Court and vide order dated 25.04.2018, time was extended till 20.10.2018.
9. I am informed by counsel for the parties that the matter is at the stage of evidence and that since the record is voluminous, arbitration proceedings could not conclude within the time allocated by this Court.
10. Accordingly, parties pray that time for concluding the arbitration proceedings and pronouncing the award be extended till 20.04.2019.
11. I have heard the learned counsel for the parties.
12. Given the time and money invested by the parties, I am inclined to extend time for conclusion of arbitration proceedings and pronouncement of award till 31.03.2019, commencing from 20.10.2018.
13. The petition is disposed of in the aforesaid terms.
