JUDGMENT

2. Issue notice.

3. Ms. Sahani accepts notice on behalf of the respondent. Learned counsel for the respondent says that she does not wish to file a reply to the petition.

4. The prayer made in this petition is for extension of time in respect of arbitration proceedings. The record shows that the Arbitrator was appointed by this Court vide order dated 30.5.2017 passed in Arb. P. No.317/2017. The record further shows that the arbitration proceedings commenced only on 4.5.2018. O.M.P.(MISC.)(COMM.) 24/2019 Pg.[1] of 2 2019:DHC:357

5. It appears that after arbitration proceedings commenced,with the consent of the parties, extension of time was granted by the learned Arbitrator by a further period of six months. Evidently, the extended period has also come to an end i.e. on 3.1.2019.

6. I am informed by the counsel for the parties that the matter is at the stage of arguments.

7. According to me, for the moment, extension by another six (6) months should suffice given the stage at which the proceedings are presently positioned. It is ordered accordingly. The period of six (6) months will commence from 3.1.2019.

8. The captioned petition is disposed of in the aforementioned terms.
