JUDGMENT
1. Petitioners seek quashing of case FIR No. 07/2021 of PS CWC, Nanakpura for offence under Section 498A/406/34 IPC on the ground that the complainant de facto (respondent no.2) has settled the disputes with the petitioners.
2. Detailed statements of parties have already been recorded by the concerned Joint Registrar.
3. Respondent no. 2 is present through videoconferencing and is identified by IO/Insp. Adith Lily.
4. I have spoken with respondent no. 2 and she states that she has CRL.M.C. 5377/2025 pages compromised all disputes with the petitioners amicably. It is further informed by her that marriage between her and petitioner no. 1 already stands dissolved by way of a decree of divorce. It is submitted by her that they had a child, who has unfortunately passed away and now she wants to settle down in peace so she has opted to close all litigations. Respondent NO. 2 submits that she has received full and final settlement amount in lieu of her stridhan and alimony. Respondent no. 2 submits that she does not wish to pursue prosecution of petitioners.
5. In view of the aforesaid, I am satisfied that it would be in the interest of justice not to push the parties through trial. Therefore, the petition is allowed and FIR No. 07/2021 of PS CWC, Nanakpura for offence under Section 498A/406/34 IPC as well as proceedings arising out of the same are quashed.
