JUDGMENT

1. This so-called Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been preferred with the following prayers: “(i) Directing Respondent to construct Library in H-Block.

(ii) Directing Respondent to provide Status Report as to construction of Library in H-Block.

(iii) Any other relief which court may deem fit in the interest of justice, equity and good conscience.”

2. Counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that suffice it will be for the disposal of this writ petition if direction is given to the respondent 2019:DHC:6536-DB to treat this writ petition as a representation and act upon the said representation in a time bound manner.

3. In view of the above, we hereby direct the respondent to treat this writ petition as representation and take a decision to construct a public library at H-Block, Shakarpur, Delhi after looking to the needs of the people of the area in question; availability of funds; and priority of the other works pending with the respondent. If the respondent after considering the aforesaid facts deems it necessary to construct the library, then the same shall be done as expeditiously as possible and practicable.

4. With these observations, this writ petition is disposed of. CM APPL. 39153/2018 (stay) In view of the order passed in the writ petition, this application is disposed of.
