JUDGMENT
1. This Public Interest Petition (PIL) has been preferred with the following prayers: 2019:DHC:6837-DB W.P.(C) 13029/2019 “a. Direct the Respondents to ensure that every citizen gets clean and safe drinking water in National Capital Delhi, because clean, affordable, accessible water are prerequisites for people to live healthy, dignified and productive lives. b. Direct the respondents to make compliance of quality standards for piped water mandatory in National Capital Delhi. c. Pass such further or other orders, which this Hon'ble Court may deem fit and proper in the facts and circumstances of the case in the interest of justice.”
2. The instant writ petition seeks directions from this Court to respondents to ensure clean and safe drinking water supply in National Capital Territory of Delhi.
3. Learned counsel for the respondent no. 2 submits that they are taking all care for ensuring the supply of safe drinking water in National Capital Territory of Delhi.
4. Nonetheless, we hereby direct the respondents to treat this writ petition as a representation for addressing the grievances, as ventilated in this writ petition. In case there is a scope for improving their system to supply the safe and clean drinking water, the same will be addressed by the respondents, in accordance with law, rules, regulations and Government policy as applicable to the facts of this case.
5. With these observations, this writ petition is hereby disposed of.
