JUDGMENT
1. Allowed, subject to all just exceptions.
2. The application is disposed of.
1. Arbitral disputes have arisen between the parties, the matter was referred to the arbitration of a learned sole arbitrator, who entered on 2020:DHC:2677 the reference in December, 2018. The arbitral proceedings have been continuing since then. The time available with the learned sole arbitrator, to conclude the proceedings and pronounce her award thereon, expired on 11th June, 2020.
2. In these circumstances, the present petition has been moved by the petitioner, seeking extension of time, for the sole arbitrator to conclude the proceedings and pronounce the award thereon, till 01st December, 2020.
3. Mr. Shadan Farasat, learned counsel for the respondent, does not oppose the request, but submits that it would be appropriate that a period of seven months, commencing today, be granted for the sole arbitrator to conclude the proceedings.
4. In view thereof, the time available with the learned sole arbitrator to conclude the proceedings and pronounce the award thereon, stands extended by a period of seven months commencing 1st September, 2020.
5. The petition is allowed in the aforesaid terms.
