JUDGMENT
1. This is a petition under sub-sections (4) and (5) of Section 29-A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, praying for extension of time for the conclusion of the arbitral proceedings and rendering an award thereon, by the learned sole arbitrator, by a further of period of 12 months.
2. Mr. Pranav Proothi, learned counsel appearing for the respondents, does not object to the request, but prays that as there has been an unnecessary delay in the proceedings, this Court may pass 2020:DHC:2974 O.M.P.(MISC.)(COMM.) 173/2020 appropriate directions to ensure that unnecessary adjournments are not taken.
3. In view thereof, this petition is disposed of by extending the time available with the learned sole arbitrator to conclude the proceedings and render the award, by a further period of 12 months from today.
4. Learned sole arbitrator would proceed in the matter with all due expedition and ensure that unnecessary adjournments are not granted to either party.
