1. The hearing was conducted through video conferencing. W.P.(C) 6077/2021

2. Petitioner seeks a direction to the respondents to implement the suggestions of the Municipal Valuation Committee-IV given by them 2021:DHC:1938 W.P(C) 6077/2021 2 in the report dated 12.09.2018 published on the website on 17.12.2018 for recategorization of New Friends Colony from Category-A to Category-B and complete the recategorization process at the earliest.

3. Issue notice. Notice is accepted by learned counsel for respondent no. 1 as also by counsel for respondent no. 2. With the consent of learned counsels petition is taken up for final disposal.

4. Learned counsel for respondent no. 2 submits that the report of the Municipal Valuation Committee, relied on by the petitioner, is only a preliminary report and final decision on the report is yet to be taken by the competent authority.

5. Learned counsel appearing for respondent no. 1 submits that some time would be required for taking a final decision. He submits that proceedings in respect of certain other areas which are also subject matter of the report are pending consideration before the competent authority.

6. Keeping in view of the fact that for the purposes of recategorization, objections are invited from public by issuance of public notices, I deem it expedient to direct that this petition be treated as a representation to the respondents and respondents shall expedite the process of taking a final decision on the request of recategorization and the process be completed within a maximum period of six months from today.

7. Respondents shall keep in view directions issued by this Court W.P(C) 6077/2021 3 on 07.09.2006 in W.P. (C) 11756/2006 while taking the final decision.

8. Petition is disposed of in the above terms.

9. Copy of the Order be uploaded on the High Court website and be also forwarded to learned counsels through email.
