JUDGMENT
1. Present petition has been preferred seeking the following reliefs: “a. Pass an order directing the respondent no.1 to provide the Essential items as mention in above para 23 of this petition to the affected families; b. Pass an order directing respondent no.1, to provide age appropriate nutritious meals to affected children as per Schedule II of the National Food Security Act, 2013; c. Pass an order directing respondent no.1 to conduct a survey of the damaged property of the affected residents and compensate them accordingly; d. Pass an order directing respondent no.1 to provide medical aid to the affected residents; e. Pass an order directing respondent no.1 to provide books, notebooks, pen, pencil and other educational amenities to the affected school going children; 2021:DHC:3452-DB W.P.(C) 5300/2021 f. Pass an order directing respondent no.1 to provide livelihood assistance to the affected families who lost their livelihood by fire; g. Any other order deemfit and proper.”
2. Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the Petitioners, at the outset, submits that necessary aid to a large extent has been given to the Petitioners. However, the children residing in the JJ Basti, Jamia Nagar, Noor Nagar, Pahadi Jhuggi-128, South Delhi-110025, are unable to educate themselves due to lack of resources and, therefore, a suitable direction be given to the Respondents to consider the request of the Petitioners for grant of stationery, books etc., to the children, to enable them to study.
3. In view of the aforesaid submission, we dispose of the present writ petition along with the pending applications, with a direction to the Respondents to consider the request of the Petitioners for grant of books, etc., to the children residing in the JJ Basti etc. as aforementioned and take a decision as expeditiously as possible.
