HIGH COURT OF DELHI
Date of Decision: 24.12.2025
CHANDAN KUMAR SURA .....Petitioner
Through: Mr. Rohit Shukla, Advocate
Through: Ms. Shubhra Parashar and Mr. Virender Pratap Singh Charak, Advocates for R1&4
JUDGMENT
1. Petitioner has filed this petition, seeking directions to the Central Administrative Tribunal for expeditious disposal of the Contempt Petition No. 1037/2025 titled Chandan Kumar Sura vs Rachna Shah & Ors.
2. In the previous call today, a passover was taken by proxy counsel for petitioner. In this second call, I have heard learned counsel for petitioner. Having heard learned counsel for petitioner, I find the present petition completely frivolous and not fit for even issuance of notice.
3. In response to a specific query, it is informed by learned counsel for petitioner that the subject contempt petition was filed in this month itself. CM(M) 2502/2025 pages Even copies of ordersheet(s) passed by the learned Central Administrative Tribunal have not been placed on record in order to show that the subject contempt petition is being not adjudicated expeditiously.
4. To reiterate, what the petitioner seeks is expeditious disposal of a contempt petition, which is aged not even one month. And on his part, the petitioner would not care to even file the ordersheet(s) of the Central Administrative Tribunal in order to show any laxity in the disposal. It is also important to note that the subject proceedings are not the Original Application, but contempt petition. The learned counsel for petitioner also expresses unawareness about the board position of the learned Central Administrative Tribunal in order to justify the prioritization of his contempt petition over the remaining petitions pending there.
5. Such petitions, brought in already overflowing dockets, cause unnecessary drain on the system. The petition is dismissed with cost of Rs.10,000/- to be deposited with www.bharatkeveer.gov.in by petitioner within one week. Pending application also stands disposed of.
