JUDGMENT

1. An application for membership of the Council of Board of School Education in India (COBSE) submitted by the petitioner, dated 17 December 2022, is pending with the COBSE. This writ petition seeks a direction to the COBSE to consider the said representation and grant membership of the COBSE to the petitioner.

2. Mr. Kasana, learned counsel for the petitioner, has drawn my attention to communication dated 12 January 2023 from the COBSE to the petitioner in which the petitioner has been directed to obtain equivalence from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) for obtaining membership of the COBSE. Mr. Kasana submits that this equivalence has already been obtained on 6 September 2018, a copy of which has been placed on record as Annexure P-08 with this writ W.P.(C) 14388/2023 petition.

3. Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of, with a direction to the respondent to take a decision on the petitioner’s representation dated 17 December 2022 and, while doing so, take into consideration the document dated 6 September 2018 annexed to this writ petition as Annexure P-8. Let a decision be taken positively, within a period of two weeks from today.

4. Should the petitioner continue to remain aggrieved, the remedies of the petitioner in law would stand reserved.

5. This petition is disposed of in the aforesaid terms.
