Petitioner no. 1 and respondent no. 2 are husband and wife. On account of temperamental differences they started living separately.
On the complaint of respondent no.2, FIR in question was registered against the petitioner no. 1 and his relatives i.e. petitioner nos. 2 to 5.
Now, with the intervention of common friends and family members petitioner no. 1 and respondent no. 2 have resolved their differences and have started living together. Terms of settlement have been recorded in the compromise deed dated 2nd March, 2009.
Respondent no.2, who is present in court, confirms that presently she is living with petitioner no.1 happily. She has no objection if FIR is quashed.
Since the parties have ironed out their differences and have started living together in the matrimonial home for the last one year, in my view, no fruitful purpose would be served in keeping them embroiled in a criminal trial. Accordingly, in larger interest, FIR
4481 1999 under Sections 498-AI406I 34 IPC registered at Nand Nagri and consequent proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.
