By this petition filed under Article 226 of the
Constitution of India, the petitioner seeks direction to direct the respondent-University to decide the representation made by the petitioner through his letters dated 20.09.2010, 20.12.2010 and
28.12.2010 requesting the University to allow him to appear in the failed papers. The petitioner in the present petition has given certain instances of those students who were either permitted to appear in their backlog examinations or were allowed to appear I n their viva-voce beyond the prescribed period of seven years.
Since the limited relief sought by the petitioner is that the respondent-University should decide his representations in a time bound period, therefore, to this limited extent the grievance of the petitioner can be redressed by directing the respondent-
University to decide the said representations of the petitioner.
2011:DHC:18268
The respondent-University is accordingly directed to decide the aforesaid representations made by the petitioner within a period of one month from the date of this order. The respondent-
University, while deciding the said representations of the petitioner, shall categorically deal with the instances of those students given by the petitioner in the present petition, who were either allowed to appear in their failed papers or allowed to appear in their viva-voce beyond the prescribed period of seven years.
With the above directions the present petition is disposed of.
