JUDGMENT

1. The present Petition was filed by the Petitioner seeking the following prayers: “a. Issue Rule nisi; b. issue an appropriate writ, order or direction to the Respondents to ensure the due participation of the seven (7) teams that qualified at the National Championships held on July 2010, in the 34th National Games scheduled to be held in Ranchi; c. issue an appropriate writ, order or direction to the Respondents to ensure the Petitioner is entrusted with the technical conduct of the sport of Hockey in the 34th National Games scheduled to be held in Ranchi; d. issue an appropriate writ, order or direction to the Respondents to comply with the judgement passed by this Hon'ble Court in Writ Petition

(Civil) NO. 3713 of 2008 and not to act contrary to the admissions made in Writ petition (Civil) No. 4978 of 2010; e. Pass such further orders or grant such other relief as this Hon'ble Court deems fit in the facts and circumstances of this case.”

2. There is no appearance on behalf of the either party. In any event, as can be seen from the prayer clauses above, the present Petition filed by the W.P.(C) 885/2011 Petitioner primarily concerns the 34th National Games, scheduled for July, 2010, and as such the subject matter of the Petition thus no longer survives.

3. As stated above, none appears for the Petitioner today. There was no presence on the last date of hearing as well. In view of what is stated above, the present Petition is dismissed in default and for non-prosecution. Pending Applications, if any, stand closed.
