1. The limited request in the present writ petition is to permit the petitioner to avail third spell of furlough in conjunction with his second furlough.

2. The petitioner was granted second spell of furlough on 16.06.2026 and is scheduled to surrender tomorrow before the concerned Jail Superintendent.

3. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is an amputee as both his legs had to be amputated on account of his medical condition. He, all along, is using prosthetic legs.

4. It is submitted that he needs repair of such artificial limbs and, therefore, seeks third spell of furlough in conjunction with the ongoing second spell. W.P.(CRL) 1927/2026 2

5. The relevant medical documents have also been placed on record.

6. Mr. Sanjay Lao, learned Standing Counsel (Crl) for the State appears on advance notice and submits that since the third spell of furlough is being sought on medical exigency, keeping in mind his physical condition, he would leave it to the Court to pass appropriate order.

7. Keeping in mind the overall facts and considering the physical condition of the petitioner and the supporting medical documents, the present petition is allowed with the direction and permission to the petitioner to avail third spell of furlough for a period of two weeks on the same terms and conditions. Resultantly, he would be required to surrender on 23.07.2026 before the concerned Jail Superintendent.

8. The petition is disposed of in aforesaid terms.

9. A copy of this order be also transmitted to Jail Superintendent for information.
