The petitioner seeks direction that his application for discharge on extreme compassionate grounds should be considered expeditiously.
The petitioner was enrolled in the Indian Air Force on 16.06.2003 as an Airman in the trade of Radio Fitter. He claims that on account of family exigencies and other grounds, he sought discharge on extreme compassionate grounds. He relies UOfl his representations dated 24.12.2012 and 07.01.2013 to say that representations were made by him but the same have not been processed. He relies upon the Air Force Order NO. 16/2008 dated 19.09.2008 where, by Para 9(a), the authorities arc obliged to process and dispose of the applications for pre-mature discharge expeditiously.
Learned counsel for the respondents says that according to instructions, even though the application was received as a first step, the petitioner was counseled and that the application would he taken up and processed expeditiously.
In view of the submissions made, the respondents shall process and consider the
2013:DHC:7799-DB application for discharge on extreme compassionate grounds on its merits within six weeks from today and indicate the position to the petitioner directly. the Writ Petition is disposed of in the above terms.
