HIGH COURT OF DELHI
Date of Decision: 21st February, 2025
DEEPA CHAUDHARY .....Petitioner
Through: None
Through: Mr. Anil Soni, Senior Advocate
JUDGMENT
1. None appears on behalf of the petitioner.
2. It is noticed that when this matter was taken up by this Court on 17.11.2023, the respondent i.e. All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) had informed that the department had complied with the direction of this Court and accordingly sought time to file a status report in this regard.
3. As per bare contents of the contempt petition, according to petitioner, respondents had committed contempt of order dated 25.07.2019 whereby the respondent-AICTE was directed to decide the appeal filed by the petitioner within four weeks.
4. Learned counsel for respondent-AICTE submits that petitioner had merely filed a representation which has been described somehow as appeal in the aforesaid order. It is submitted that such representation was duly CONT.CAS(C) 940/2019 2 considered by the Standing Complaint Scrutiny Committee on 19.10.2023 and has been disposed of by observing that there was no merit in such representation.
5. So much so, a communication thereof was also sent to petitioner on 01.11.2023.
6. It is, thus, quite apparent that representation of the petitioner has already been disposed of and in case petitioner is aggrieved by such decision, she can always take appropriate action, as permissible under law.
7. Though the decision as above is not within the time-frame fixed by the Court, fact remains that since there is already a decision by the respondent, there would not be any real purpose in continuing with the present contempt petition.
8. The petition is accordingly disposed of in aforesaid terms.
