15.05.2013 Present writ petitions have been filed by the petitioners seeking a
2013:DHC:7180 y direction to the respondents to ensure adequate drinking water supply to tine Queen's Apartments, Nai Basti, Devil Village, In South Delhi.
Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that an earlier writ petitions filed was disposed of by an order dated 29.2.2012. As the order dated 29.2,2012 was not complied with contempt petition were filed, which were disposed of by an order dated 19.12.2012, when the following order was passed:
"Mr Suresh Tripathy, who appears for the respondents, says that, as directed by this court, a water connection to the main line has been provided.
This is not disputed by the learned counsel for the petitioner. His concern is that there is practically no water flowing to the petitioner's pipe line.
Mr Tripathy on instructions of Mr L.L. Meena, Executive
Engineer, says that the water table in the area has gone down and, therefore, the present bore is not able to pull up water which could meet the need of every resident in the area. It is submitted that the steps are being taken for drilling a fresh bore, in the area. Mr
Tripathy assures the court that the needful will be done as expeditiously as possible, though not later than three months.
In view of the above, the contempt petitions are consigned to record."
Learned counsel for the respondents enters appearance on an advance copy and on instructions from Mr.Vijay from Legal Cell of the respondents, who is present in Court, submits that the order dated
^ 19.12.2012 passed In Cont.Cas(C)790/2012 and other connected contempt cases listed on the same day shall be complied with within three months from today. Counsel for the respondents on instructions further submits that water will be supplied to the colony of the petitioners known as
Queen's Apartments, Nai Basti, Adarsh Colony, Abadi Lai Dora Village, Devli, through one water tanker daily. Counsel for the petitioners has no objection to this. Respondents shall be bound by the stand taken by the counsel on Instructions in Court today. The stand taken by counsel for the respondents on instructions will be taken as an undertaking to the Court.

The Zonal Engineer will maintain a log book to ascertain and satisfy himself that one tanker is sent every day to the above colony of the petitioners so that the petitioners are not deprived of the water during the acute summer and till the boring is carried out.
As prayed writ petitions stand disposed of in above terms. Liberty, as prayed for is granted to the petitioners, to approach this Court again, if need so arises.
