CORAM:
HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE V.K. JAIN
% 25.10.2013
Vide notice dated 3.6.2013, the Delhi Police invited applications for grant oftemporary licences for selling fire-crackers. The last date ofsubmitting the duly
2013:DHC:7254 filled application forms inthe Office ofthe concerned DCP was 5"^ August, 2013.
The petitioners applied for grant of the aforesaid licence on 22.10.2013. The grievance of the petitioners is that no decision has been taken on their applications. The learned Standing Counsel for the respondent submits that since the applications were filed much after the last date stipulated for submission of such applications, they cannot be considered on merit. I fmd merit in the contention of the learned Standing Counsel for the respondent. The petitioners having not submitted the applications within the time stipulated in this regard, can have no grievance if their applications have not been considered, particularly when the licences were to be valid from 11.10.2013 to 5.11.2013 and it is already
25.10.2013 today.
Considering the facts and circumstances, no relief can be granted to the petitioners at this belated stage. The writ petitions have no merit and are herein dismissed. There shall be no orders as to costs.
