04.04.2014 Rev. Pet. No.284/2009 Mr. Anuj Aggarwal, Advocate, is present on behalf of non- applicants/respondent Nos.2 and 3. Ms. Anupama Bhatnagar, Director, News Service Division, AIR, Akashwani, New Delhi is present in court in compliance with the order dated 04.03.2014.
Mr. Anuj Aggarwal submits that the cost of Rs.15,000/- has been paid by him in court through cheque in favour of the counsel for the applicant.
2014:DHC:1943 Counsel also submitted that he had already filed reply on 02.04.2014.
Heard.
Vide order dated 10.01.2014, this court directed the personal presence of Director General, News Service Division, AIR, Akashwani, New Delhi for the next date. However, the Director General, News Service Division, AIR, Akashwani, New Delhi failed to appear on the said date due to which, this court directed the personal presence of Mr. Rajiv Mehra, learned
Additional Solicitor General of India on the same date. Mr. Rajiv Mehra, ASG appeared in court and gave assurance that he would personally look into the conduct of the Director General, News Service Division, AIR, Akashwani, New Delhi, and shall ensure his presence before the court on the next date. Mr. Rajiv Mehra, ASG also submitted that he would personally look into the controversy involved in the present matter so as to assist the court.
In the light of the above, let an affidavit be filed by the Director
General, News Service Division, AIR, Akashwani, New Delhi for failure to appear in the court despite directions given by this court vide orders dated
10.01.2014 and 21.02.2014. Affidavit shall be filed within a period of three weeks.
The court is also appalled to find that no prompt steps were taken by the said department to file reply to the review petition as the same is still not on record.
Let the counsel take steps to place the said reply on record before the next date of hearing. Rejoinder, if any, be filed by the applicant within a period of four weeks.
List this matter for final disposal on 23rd May, 2014.
