CORAM:
HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE VIBHU BAKHRU
12.01.2015 The petitioners impugn the rejection of their applications for
Veterinary Licence for running a meat shop situated in "Murga Market".
The learned counsel for the respondents points out that by virtue of an
Office Memorandum dated 02.09.2011, an appeal is provided against refusal/revocation of the licence to the Deputy Commissioner of the concerned zone. He further submits that the petitioners are General Power of
Attorney holders of the original allottees and their names have not been
2015:DHC:11814 recorded as owners by DUSIB. It is further submitted that the "Murga
Market" has 132 shops and only 14 shops are meant for carrying on the trade in the poultry and meat products. These contentions are disputed by the learned counsel for the petitioner.
In the given circumstances, it is apparent that there is an alternative remedy available to the petitioner. Accordingly, the present petition is dismissed with liberty to the petitioners to approach the concerned Deputy
Commissioner. It is further directed that in the event, the petit^.ers approach the concerned officer by way of an appeal within a period of two weeks from today, the same would be considered and disposed of within a period of eight weeks, thereafter.
The writ petitions are disposed of with the aforesaid directions.
