JUDGMENT
(ORAL)

1. Petitioners have sought quashing of FIR No.654/2022 of PS Jagatpuri for offence under Section 498A/406/34 IPC on the ground that they have compromised all disputes with the complainant de facto (respondent no.2 herein). All petitioners and respondent no.2 have personally appeared and are identified by their respective counsel and Investigating Officer/SI Komal.

2. I have spoken with the parties in Hindi.

3. It is submitted by respondent no.2 that she has voluntarily compromised all disputes with the petitioners. Petitioner no.1 and respondent no.2 were not blessed with a child in their matrimony and they have got their marriage dissolved by way of decree of divorce dated 01.02.2025, obtained with mutual consent. Respondent no.2 submits that towards full and final settlement dated 22.11.2024, as arrived at before the Delhi Mediation Centre, Karkardooma Courts, Delhi, she has received a sum of Rs.8,00,000/- from petitioners in lieu of her stridhan and alimony and now nothing is due as per her. Respondent no.2 submits that she does not want to pursue the prosecution of the petitioners. Statements of parties have already been recorded by the concerned Registrar.

4. Having spoken with the parties, I am satisfied that it would be in the interest of justice, not to push the parties through trial.

5. Therefore, the petition is allowed and the FIR No.654/2022 of PS Jagatpuri for offence under Section 498A/406/34 IPC as well as proceedings arising out of the same are quashed. Pending application stands disposed of.
