JUDGMENT
(ORAL)

1. The application filed by the petitioner for being released on first spell of furlough for a period of three weeks was allowed by the competent authority vide order dated 29.03.2025 subject to his furnishing two sureties of Rs. 10,000/- with a personal bond in the like amount.

2. By way of this petition, the petitioner seeks exemption from presenting sureties on the ground that he has no relative or friend to stand as surety.

3. Learned ASC has submitted status report which is accepted across the board to be scanned and made part of the record. According to the said status report, sister of the petitioner and her mother-in-law have given GIRISH KATHPALIA Date: 2025.05.13 17:38:29 +05'30' W.P.(CRL) 1112/2025 pages written statements that they are willing to stand as sureties for the petitioner.

4. Considering the overall circumstances, the impugned order of the competent authority is modified to the limited extent that the petitioner shall be released on furlough subject to his furnishing a personal bond in the sum of Rs. 10,000/- with one surety in the like amount to the satisfaction of the Jail Superintendent. Rest of the conditions of furlough shall remain same as mentioned in the impugned order.

5. Accordingly, the petition stands disposed of.
